Zechariah  14 : 12
And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

Well written article.

In some respects, this lends itself to clues as to the two witnesses and their identity.

Granted that this is purely speclative, but  Enoch and Elijah were both taken up without dying.  Those are the only two that I know of that where taken alive, both before Christ manifested Himself in person on earth..   Moses must have died because in Jude 1:9 the the archangel Michael contended with the devil for the body of Moses implying that he died.

When applying Hebrews 9:27 "And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation."

There is a profound beauty to the symetry of Gods word, in that it always ties out and is always consistent with itself  when read in context.  Whatever the case, you are right in that there are many Enoch's out there today talking about the coming judgement of God many who will not see death because of the lateness of the hour.

May he come soon for us!

Comments: Sorry I'm late with this info Alf... Prophecy in the News founder Dr. J.R. Church translated the Book of Enoch and wrote an commentary on it. He also did a bunch of shows on it before he passed in 2012. These are still available for purchase from Prophecy in the News.

Also, the Ancient Book of Jasher chapter 3 is the story of Enoch's life. Dr. Ken Johnson has an excellent translation of it and Dr. Johnson adds the dates these events happened. Jasher is referenced in Joshua 10:13, 2 Samuel 1:18 and 2 Timothy 3:8. Jasher is not scripture but it reads like it. Dr. Johnson's edition breaks it up into chapters and verses like scripture.

in 2 Timothy 3:8 Paul gives the names of the magicians who challenged Moses in Pharaoh's court. Paul got that info from the book of Jasher. Paul recognized it as a highly accurate history book. If gives all kinds of background info the book of Genesis does not give.

The Book of Enoch was probably on the ark and more likely than not so were the first few chapters of the book of Jasher.
